Thank you Laura Baragan for this tasty classic...warm fluffy damper smothered in Nuttelex and sticky sweet golden syrup! YUM!

1Pre-heat oven to 200C or 180 fan forced line a baking tray with baking paper
2In a bowl place all the ingredients except the iced water & with your fingertips work the butter with the dry ingredients until it resembles sand like consistency refer to photo
3Start adding the iced water to the mixture & with the aid of a rounded butter knife bring the dough together
4Now place dough on your bench top and knead for a couple of minutes until smooth. Make a round disk place on the prepared lined tray sprinkle with a little flour
5Next cut your damper with a sharp knife making a pattern with 6-8 divisions, brush top with melted, cooled Nuttelex & dust with a little more flour
6Bake for 30 minutes until nicely golden check by tapping the base if you hear a hollow sound, it's ready
7Bring out of the oven cover with a clean tea towel let rest for 5 minutes then enjoy with lashings of Nuttelex Butter & drizzling of golden syrup
