Spook-tacular Pancakes (Vegan)

A super easy Halloween dessert that everyone can have fun with.



2 cups self raising flour

1 tsp salt

1 egg replacer

2 cups plant based milk

plant based Nuttelex (for frying) and melting on top

Spooky Decoration

Cottees squeezy topping chocolate sauce (and a piping bag)


1Mix the self raising flour with the salt.

2Make a well in the middle, add the egg replacer and half the plant milk.

3Gently stir to create a thick batter, adding in the rest of the milk while stirring.

4Leave the mixture to rest for half an hour.

Spider Web, Jacko-Lantern and Fly Pancakes

1Heat a heaped teaspoon of Nuttelex in frying pan over a medium heat.

2Pour in a ladle of the batter.

3Flip or turn the pancake when the top is dry and cook the other side until golden.

4Remove from the pan. Repeat until you have used up all the batter.

5Butter top with Nuttelex while still hot. Once it sinks in, pour the choc sauce into the piping bag, and create your spooky designs onto each pancake. Easy designs include: Witches hat, scull, spiders web, jack 'o lantern pumpkin face, witches broom and spider.

Jacko-Lantern Decoration

1Draw 2 triangles on the top half of the pancake for the eyes.

2Underneath the triangles, draw a mouth with 2 squares inside for the teeth.

Spider Web Decoration

1Pipe a cross onto the pancake - one vertical and one horizontal line.

2Pipe two more lines onto the pancake, this time diagonals across the cross.

3Start weaving your web. Start with the inner “circle” making a small arch from one line to the other. Continue until you reach the outer edges of the pancake.

Fly Decoration

1Pipe a circle onto the centre of the pancake. Fill the circle in - this will be the fly's head.

2Pipe an oval behind the spider's head. Fill the oval in - this will be the fly's body.

3Add 3 legs coming out of each side of the fly's head. Make the back legs the longest.

4Pipe 2 more lines coming out of the front of the fly's head - these will be the antennas.
